PLASTIC CARD

	The plastic card industry requires UV inks that will litho well and accept a lamination as well as provide strong color fidelity throughout the lamination process. UVitec has worked closely with card printers and press manufacturers to produce ink systems that provide the performance that is needed both on press and after the card is produced. Die cutting the card requires cured ink layers that will not have stress cracks that in turn compromise the card's performance with either laminates or top coatings. UVitec has worked with all types of lamination film, both treated and non-treated, as well as a variety of different treated and non-treated base film substrates.
	Waterless UV litho inks are very popular with plastic card printers because the absence of fountain solution emulsified in the cured ink film ensures optimum lamination attributes. Recognizing this, UVitec has worked closely with waterless plate manufacturers to get the right temperature range necessary for both good ink transfer and plate performance.
